I have been looking to improve my data verifications process for the data feeds that I currently use as a base for MTP EOD to scan.

Basically I am trying to find an easy way to 'scan' the data files that I download nightly from Genesis & CSI and identify if there is any missing data in each file.

Does anyone know of a pre-existing software product that would do this?

Steve- Maybe consider building this into the EOD scan in the next version? I am only only looking for a list of the data files the date entered in the scanner is not found in the data file.

Regards,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Interesting, but with CSIData and Genesis you have two very good data feeds that have people who's job it is to do just that..............

Thanks

Steve- Thanks for the prompt response. I fully agree that CSI & Genesis are high-quality feeds, I am further trying to reduce the potential for errors in data transmission and looking for missing values is probably the easiest error to identify & report on.

I had an instance this year where I found out, by sheer chance, that Genesis had missing data for two days, and when I spoke to their tech support/error department they disagreed about the omissionand finally looked at their database and found the missing values.

I would HATE to miss out on a good opportunity because for some odd reason one of the data values was not provided by the data provider.

Eric
