Chart attached shows the DAX future today using range bars.

Every TSx signal is > 2R due to the range bars and profits can be harvested by going from one signal to another just using an overbought/oversold filter.

This chart has more than 15R so far today.

TT,

Very interesting chart. I'm curious are you experiencing lots of false signals that have now disappeared from the chart? Much like a tick chart will be? I’ve found that ticks chart look great in hindsight but are loaded with failed signals in real time.

Thanks,
Todd

I have to disagree, looking at that chart with a "developers" eye there look to be very few losing trades. so looks like Tom woudl have had a very good time there........

Hi,

Range Bars are better than tick or volume bars. Tick and Volume bars give many false signals.

As Steve said, there were very few false signals in the chart I posted and those were filtered out in the way I explained.

I set my DAX charts to the Eurex Exchange times of 8am to 10pm local German time.

By using range bars will give you a smoothness that greatly reduces the stop outs, its why I use them. You will need to play around with the ranges that give you the setups you need.

The best part is that because every bar is the same size, each trade's position size is very visible instantly.

Tom,

Where did you get the 8.1 beta?

I went to this site http://share.esignal.com/groupcontents.jsp?groupid=1016

but it just downloads jibberish. An esignal file with no extension.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

It is the right page. About 10 seconds after I posted my last messege it occurred to me try to use a different browser. That worked. For some reason Firefox couldn't do it. IE could. Who knew?

Best,
Todd

Hi Tom,

Could you post a chart from today's session, any market, with your range bars?

Thanks,
Todd

Hi Todd,

That is because FireFox cannot download files correctly - why people use this over IE I do not know. This causes us problems for us here as well - better to stick to IE6 or IE7
