Range bars will be included in NinjaTrader v6.5 which should be out by October if not sooner and this will allow you to drop eSignal for charting based on your comments below.

oh, dear... this will probably mean I'll have to add eSignal so I can take advantage of range bars (as a TS8 user, I have been dreaming of these for years...).
... and I'll have to subscribe to NT as well...

Thanks for the update Angel.
I hope that the new MTP efs is available well before then so we will have some choices if we need some of our existing efs studies to use with MTP.

Good point, tar001... my biggest concern is not the cost, but the computer 'overhead'. After moving house in September, I will buy a new trading computer & whilst it will be dedicated to trading-related applications, the list is becoming longer than ideal.
At present :
TS8.3
IB TWS
RJO Vantage (for pit commodities and futures spreads)
Excel
But now will probably add :
eSignal (said to be another resource hog - perhaps not so bad in data-only mode)
Ninja
The new machine has to be silent & will have 4GB of RAM.
Getting off topic here....so sorry.

Hi Guys,

Steve
PS, the programmer is locked in a room by himself and is only fed bread and water until he is finished ;)

Thanks Steve. Glad they are in the works.
There are a number of people waiting to buy MTP when these are released so they can use them with Range Bars in eSig as it looks like the NT version is further away.
