Here is a question that has been addressed to me several times in the last few weeks.

Question:

My End-of-Day search results do not match the results on your "Stocks to Watch list" What am I doing wrong?

Well, the first problem I ask people is: "What data source are you using?" In other words, where are you downloading your data from. Most people will say: "What does that matter?"

It matters a GREAT deal...because not all data sources give you the same data!!! Free data on the internet is not a trustworthy source...I can think of three reasons why right now:

1.) Whose going to split the data when the company calls for a "Stock split"?
2.) Whose going to edit the data when a spike comes through on the data transmission? (and believe me, they happen more often than you think)
3.) Whose going to edit the dividend adjustment after the company announcement?

So the question remains is it possible that two different data sources could have different data prices after each download?

It's not only possible...I see it happen all the time. People assume that because the data comes from the exchange it's correct. Nothing could be further from the truth...

If you call up the exchanges they will tell you they don't guarantee ANY data that is broadcasted to ANY third-party vendor.

I remember back in 1999 Futures Magazine did a study on 10 different data companies that sell Futures data to the public domain and the results were unbelievable... For Futures data... CSI blew the competition away:

You can order a reprint of this original article from CSI here:

We recommend CSI for End-of-Day Futures traders

Trust me, after you read the article you will understand that NOT all End-of-Day data is the same.

The article only talks about FUTURES data, there was not testing of STOCK data in this article. However, I can tell you without a doubt, TC2005 is the cleanest data source I have aver used for STOCK data you can visit them here: www.worden.com

We recommend TC2005 (The Gold version) for stock traders. They do have a Platinum version that has Real-Time data, but that is not required to use with the MTPredictor End-of-Day software.

If you have further questions on data issues please contact us via e-mail.

Thank you,
