I have taken out subscriptions to TeleCharts and CSI Unfair advantage 'cause they were recommended by MTP as having the best, cleanest Stocks and Futures data respectively.
Accuracy and cleanliness of data has to be the primary concern I suppose but I'd be quite happy stop using CSI as I find it extremely hard to fathom and difficult to use. I tried to add EUR-USD to the standard MTP list and gave up in the end.
Genesis looks very easy to use and looks like a good all-round solution which would be cheaper and include Forex but I see it is not recommended by MTP for US stocks data.
Is their Futures data as accurate as CSI?
Is their Stocks data as accurate as TeleCharts?
I'm vaguely aware that the 067's Steve talks about are continuous contracts, does CSI have these?

Hi Brian,
Yes, I am impressed with Genesis, especially thier ease of use. Agreed CSI has good quality data, but working with their Portfolios are a nightmare. Genesis has pre build lists for Futures and Forex and Stocks (for example the S&P500 and Nasdaq100) as well as the individual Futures cotracts (if required).
This is why I like them, expecialy as we now have a discounted price for MTPredictor customers.
So if you are looking for just one data vendor to have US Futures, Forex and US Stocks, then Genesis would be a good solution and very easy to use.
I hope this helps ?

Hi Brian,
I told Steve the same thing for months...I've been in the trading industry for a long time and this has got to be worst user interface I've ever seen. I told Steve that using CSI was royal pain in the @$$. I had many customers call and say this was like an "Iron Maiden". Once I heard that it was like we've got to find a better solution for our customers. As you know TC2005 is great for stocks but they do not cover Futures or Forex. So I spent many hours looking into various programs and Genesis looked like the end all. S oI told Steve to give them a shot and he really like it... Now we are going to support Genesis: http://www.gfds.com/
Hi,
Yes, Steve and Matt are right - CSI is not user friendly. (Excellent quality - probably the best Futures data, but not easy to use - I use CSI for several years).
But if you have any data issue, as trader, there is no reason to contact Steve or Matt. The ball is not in their field. You just waste their time.
First - if you have data problems, is not because of MTPredictor - a stable software; there is something between your computer and CSI servers. It doesn't matter you use a pre-built Futures portfolio or a portfolio build by you.
Contact CSI Technicl support by email, at support@csidata.com, or even better, call Rudi - CSI Technical Manager, at 1-800-274-4727 (rudi@csidata.com) and, probably you will have a solution over the phone.
Second - if you believe CSI data is not presented in the the best way (for example you want a specific selection, or a prebuilt portfolio, changes in their interface, etc.), call Steven Davis- CSI Programming Manager - 1-800-274-4727 and tell him what issue you have. MORE PHONE CALLS WILL PUSH CSI TO CHANGE WHAT YOU DISLIKE.
Always is normal to have the last CSI Unfair Advantage Version (now 2.8.3), because they do improvements based on clients requests. Updates are free.
IF YOU USE MTPredictor PRE-BUILT CSI US FUTURES PORTFOLIO, STEVE - ALWAYS THINKING TO HIS CUSTOMERS - IS DOING NOW AN UPDATE, ADDING SEVERAL GOOD MARKETS TO TRADE.
Have a good trading

Got Trade Navigator Gold and it's pretty neat - much easier to use and undertand than CSI. The auto-update Quote board is a nice feature.
