Does anybody have any feedback on the new "Strong Trend Filter" in v5 as far as determining trend? How is it stacking up to the good ol' 20MA in longer time frame type analysis....

the main toolbar, click the "display studies" button, the one that gives you all the indicator tabs, moving averages, RSI, STO, MACD etc. the 4th one from the right is labeled "STF", for "Strong Trend Filter". It gives a series of vertical bars, red below the line and blue above. The longer the bar, the stronger the trend, down or up respectivelly. The guys call this a "proprietary" filter to indicate strength and direction of trends... I suppose to help in "trading the direction of the trend". Since this is something the MTP crew came up with, I don't think anybody else will have it, so we are the ones to see how and if it works for us.... hence my post!!!
