Trading over the Holiday Period

Hi Steve and fellow traders – The holiday season is almost here and I was wondering what your thoughts were on trading during the Christmas and New Year period.

I know volume decreases during this period and this being my first Christmas trading E-mimi’s, when would be a sensible time to stop trading.

I’m talking about the 23rd, 28th 29th 30th; any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hi Clive,

A good question................. personally I am having next week off to have some time away from the screens. But if you do want to tarde, be wary of the low volumes, particulary on this Friday and then going into the new year.

A lot of other traders will have next wek off as well, so as you say, volumes will be lower.

Having said that, you can get some nice moves at these times

Nice Short on the Dow this afternoon... I was able to show this trade while on the phone with a client...
