Steve:
Can you give me an idea of when your new STF trend filter will be available for download by EOD users like myself.
Thanks,
Darrell

It has an "STF" at any rate, in the "Display Studies" which is the button just to the right of the print button up top. The STF is in the middle of the tabs...
What I don't know is if Steve's recent work on the STF for the RT versions will cause him to update and re-release this one??? Maybe he will speak to that.
Also, keep in mind that the STF is for US index futures ONLY!! (as I understand it...) so it is not appropriate for any other markets....
Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply. Yes the EOD version does have an STF, but there is a new PDF file in the esignal download section at MTPredictor than concerns the new version which will be available at some future date, at least to RT users.

There is a new STF for the RT users, and it indeed is available on the members download page, but is only for esignal/tradstation, not EOD. That is what I meant by not knowing if they would be reworking the existing EOD STF or not...
I suppose we will hear!!

Thanks. I read the PDF on it and it looks more like an oscillator than the one currently available in the EOD version. Sure would be nice if the "powers that be" were to grace us EOD users with it. Anyway, I appreciate your help.

Hi Guys,
All you had to do was drop Support@MTPredictor.net on this question and you would then know that we will be changing the "old" STF in the EOD for the "new" oscilaltor version in a few weeks. I also mentioned this serveral times in my daily report - which I hope you are all reading :)
So yes, this will be updated in a few weeks in the EOD porgram.
Thanks
Steve

anyone else finding that the 15 minute STF is lagging the market so much that it is not really practical for RT trading of the index futures? Then again so is the Trin and most other indicators(unless you know candlestick patterns). MTP has some great counter trend trade setups that I think you be considered regardless of the STF/Trin etc. I think if the ABC pattern is good it should be looked at very seriously as a valid trade. Today(and quite a bit lately) there were some great short setups but with the STF and Trin being so bullish you would not take them, I did and had a GREAT day.

Hi "NewGuy",
Have you read the help file on the new STF ?
Because there I address the question of "lagging" which you have to accecpt because (as I explian in the help file), any (and all) trend indicators will always be behind because a trend cannot be defined as a trend untill it is already in force.
This is not the job of the STF, again I suggest you read the help file, where I show that you can use this on the 15min charts to help show whether you are currently in a strong 15min trend to then be able to trade the shorter 3 and 5min set-up in the direction of the larger 15min trend.
This combined with the $TRIN has worked very well over the last few weeks and allowed us to nail some very large and profitable trades :)
But as a PS, I agree, if you are an expereinced trader, then you can have some great counter trend trades as well........... As long as you know where you are and manage the tarde accordingly....
So well done on a good day for you yesterday :)
I hope this helps ?

Steve,
Interesting indicator. I know in your stf help file you mentioned regular divergence for a trend reversal. What is your experience using stf to look for hidden divergence for trend continuation, in other words instead of price making new highs (or lows) the oscilator makes the higher high and the price makes a higher low. Attached is a chart (eur chf daily) with an example, for some reason i was not able to draw the trend line in the stf area. But you can see the divergence.

Hi David,
If you use Hidden Divergence yourrself and it works for you, then please use it.
I mainly (myself) look at standard divergence, and then also use the STF on the higher time frame for the larger degree trend.
Thanks
Steve
