Does anybody use the dgl lines on the eod charts by Don Fisher? I am curious if anybody likes them and/ or finds it useful.
Thanks,
David

Hi David,

Wow, I must have skipped right over this post... not sure how I missed it. In any event, I've tried to use the DGL Gann lines and believe it or not I'd rather stick a pencil in my head. Now, before you get the wrong impression I'm not against Don at all...he's a very nice guy and a good vendor. I actually bought his product back in 1995 or 1996 and spent about three weeks with then tossed it. I simply could not make heads or tails out of it after reading the literature that was provided with the program. My take on the DGL lines was that Don came up with a "unique" way of using GANN line and that's fine, I just couldn't use it with the prior GANN work I was taught and mentored from. Without squaring the range on a chart the lines are meaningless to me.
I mean you can take a GANN-FAN and draw lines from any pivot you want, but unless this is anchored form some swing point it's like a kid with a set of Crayola crayons you are going to get what the mind wants. It's like Elliott wave, there has to be some structure or order to the process. You gotta understand trading with GANN can be like falling into a "black-hole" if you don't know what you are doing, there is literally so much shit to learn that your head will explode if your not careful. And if it's not presented correctly you will lose the reader because of lack of practical application.
Prior to that I studied GANN for 11 years and worked under Fred Alpers who was a extremely rich/gifted trader who happen to live in Chesterland, OH (about an hour from my house). Most people don't know Fred Alpers, but he was the one who gave Tom Joseph the money to start Advanced GET and he also worked very closely with Andy Bushak to develop the GANN-BOX at Advanced GET. Most GET users don't even know it, but the GANN BOX is the most powerful tool in the program and nobody knows how to use it. Damn shame if you ask me...I can't image spending 11 million dollars on a piece of software an then not know what the hell is in it...but that's another story.
In any event, if you are interested what I consider the best GANN tool ever developed, check out the GANNBOX (see pictures below). The GANNBOX is an excellent confirmation tool when you know how to use. Believe me, the key here is knowing how to use it...because if you put it in the hands of someone who does not understand it, the results will be nothing short of a disaster. The whole key to using the GANNBOX is squaring the range and there is only one product out there that squares price and time automatically (actually there are two, but one of them you must lease on a monthly basis).
You can see it below with the MTPredictor indicators included on these charts. If you are interested in adding the GANNBOX to your MTPredictor studies I can put you in contact with the developer...send me a private e-mail here: matt@mtpredictor.com
All the best,
-Matt

Here's what the same Gann-Box looks like over 3 hours later. Notice the road map of price action and how it contains the prices during the TS3 signal.

I figured I would post my YM chart for the day as per Matt's suggestion. I thought it was pretty interesting how the Angles today contained a lot of the price. The TS3 set up was right at the angles also adding some extra confirmation of a strong support level. Just thought I'd share.
My first post with a picture attachment I hope this turns out right.
Quinn :)
MM works pretty good too..caught the 'C' twice in a row.

ES trade working out nicely using MM as a guide.
Caught the overbot zone on this TS3
